I naturally have a rather nervous disposition (though people are sometimes surprised to learn this.....seems I do a plausible job of covering it up!), so sending my patterns, something I have spent hours of dreaming/knitting/scheming/typingout to be scrutinized by other people is rather daunting!
What I have just started to do is let a small group (2-3 ppl) at my pattern for a quick testknit first, then once I feel a little more comfortable I send it off to the bigger pool of testers.
Currently with testers I have 2 top secret patterns.....both of which are wonderful (IMHO), and I can't wait for them to be available!
I also have my Beyond Puerperium pattern (the extended version of the Puerperium cardigan, covering NB-2y in 3 yarn weights).

(baby Noah wearing his Puerperium cardy.....well, one of them!)
There is also a new simple girls cardy sitting with preliminary testers, and I'm hoping to open that up to the bigger testing group within the next week or two :) this again will be in 3 yarn weights, and will go from newborn up to about 6years old.
Then I will need to decide which of my other patterns is tested next?!? Thank you for returning to me, design mojo......but did you have to return in such a great heap? :)
All in all though, as much as the testing process terrifies me, I get such a thrill from seeing people knit up my designs! I guess that's why I keep on persecuting myself *wink*

I love your patterns, and if you ever need any more testers I would love to :-) - Loving the Puerperium cardigan, can't wait to be able to knit bubs bigger ones too
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel! I'm always nervous asking for testers and awaiting that first feedback on the pattern. The pattern release is just as nerve-wracking!
ReplyDeleteBut it is such a thrill to see your pattern knit by someone else!
Eagerly awaiting to see your future designs!
Good Luck with the testing :)
