A little quiet 'round here......

So it seems it is a litle quiet around here.
To be honest, it will continue to be fairly quiet....so don't make this somewhere you check everyday! :)

I'm uber busy, with currently being out of the house for 12hrs a day, then trying to get the 2 monkeys off to bed a few hours after I get home. By the time I have done that its usually about 8.30pm, which leaves me with about an hour to re-pack for the next working day, shower, and maybe squeeze in a couple of rows of knitting before heading off to bed - most certainly no time for blogging :(

I am still managing to do a little knitting, it is just that my progress is much much slower!

Last week I finally got a shawl finished that I had started back in February.
It is a gloriously simple pattern (Lavalette by Kirstin Kapur), that I selected to showcase a fantabulous gradual gradient skein of yarn that I purchased from Cordu at Wooltopia.

The yarn is 'Kiama', a 4ply Merino/Silk blend. It was dyed in a true gradual gradient (ain't no striping in this puppy!), shifting from a pale pink at the neckline, through rose pink, plum, then fading out to a silvery mauve at the edging. It truely is spectacular yarn, and I wish I could photograph the complexity of it better.

The pattern is fabulous for showcasing special yarns like this. It is a very simple piece, perfect for beginner shawl knitters, or those like myself who are falling asleep at the end of the day!!!!

  1. I really do love that shawl Kelly, I think I will need to save my pennies and get some wool from Cordu or try gradual dyeing myself.

Hugs too for the long days, hopefully you will be able to get your own place soon so you can cut out some travel time.

What needles are needed for the Vanilla diaper soaker?
